Marinate your chicken in buttermilk and hot sauce. You can season the marinate with whatever you like (salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder)
We are using my seasoned flour today for this recipe Otherwise, checkout the simple recipe: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon salt, 1 tablespoon black pepper, 1 tablespoon paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder
Feel free to use boxed or pre-packaged waffle mix if you prefer. Otherwise, try this recipe.
Waffles: 2 eggs, 2 cups all purpose flour, 1 ¾ cup whole milk, ½ cup melted butter, 3 -4 tbsps sugar, 4 tsps baking powder, pinch of salt, 1-2 tsps vanilla extract
Mix the dry ingredients together and then mix the wet ingredients separately - and then combine them together.
Optionally - we are making a Bourbon Cream Sauce. For that we need ½ stick of butter, ½ cup of white sugar, 1 shot of bourbon, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and 1 pinch of sugar.
Combine the sauce ingredients and whisk constantly - simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Bread the chicken and heat your oil to 350 degrees. Fry the chicken for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown and 165 degrees internal temperature.
Once the chicken is done, let it drain on a wire rack and make your waffles.
