Whether you're hosting a summer gathering, craving a cozy evening treat, or simply want to showcase seasonal fruits, peach cobbler is a timeless choice that never fails to impress.
For the cobbler topping we are going to mix together all purpose-flour, baking powder, sugar, cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of sugar.
Break out your whisk and mix until thoroughly combined.
Next, grab your 9x11 casserole dish and melt 6 tbsps of butter. Pour this evenly on the bottom of your casserole dish.
Next, add your batter onto the melted butter and spread it out into an even layer.
Now it’s time to get started on your peaches.
We are using 2 cans of peaches in syrup along with white and brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt. You can add a little vanilla extract here as well if you prefer.
Simmer this mixture until it thickens up a bit. (About 10-15 minutes). You can also use a slurry (¼ cup of water and 2 tbsps cornstarch) to thicken this up as well.
Once you have the flavor right where you want it, add the peaches onto the batter.
We are going to bake this at 375 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
The crust or batter will rise to the top and form that old school peach cobbler topping we all love.
Serve this up with some ice cream and optionally a little homemade caramel sauce.
