Today we are making Steak Fried Rice w/ Jalapeños. This is a recipe I got from one of my favorite local hometown restaurants in Richmond Virginia where they do a Jalapeño Steak Fried Rice that’s out of this world. I had to come home and make it my own - and now you can Make It Happen Too!
First things first, we need to get the prep done. For that, we nice an Ice Cold Steak (I’m using ribeye but use whatever you have. We are also using day old white rice for this recipe - along with all of the other ingredients you see her.
Make the steak marinade by combining all ingredients in a mixing bowl and then adding your sliced steak and mixing to combine. The marinade is comprised of low sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger paste, garlic paste, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes.
Allow this to marinate for about an hour. Meanwhile, get started prepping your veggies. We are using yellow and green onions and jalapeños.
For my fried rice, I prefer to mix the ingredients together into a sauce and pour that into the skillet as I am cooking the rice. You can always add more of an ingredient as needed.
Cook the steak and ensure you get some nice color/crust on there. Set it aside and then stir fry your veggies - followed by the rice.
Add your sauce and mix to combine. Scramble 2 eggs and cook those in the same skillet off to the side until they’re firm and then mix with the rice.
Finally add your peas and carrots - toss back In the steak and plate it up! Enjoy
