1 Skillet Spicy Sausage Pasta Recipe by Mr. Make It Happen
Introduction:
During the week, after a long work day, there’s two things that will really annoy me. Number 1 – having to cook a super complicated dinner that takes hours to make while I’m starving and number 2 (probably even worse than number 1) is ordering out for dinner and the food sucks, lol.
Today, we are covering both of those pain points because this pasta dish is simple, delicious, and can be made in less than 30 minutes. We’re calling this Spicy Sausage Pasta (mostly because of the hot Italian sausage and red pepper flakes, but feel free to modify this recipe so that it isn’t spicy if that’s your thing.)
One of the best parts of this recipe is the fact that most of these ingredients are probably already in your fridge, freezer, or pantry. Feel free to use whatever pasta shape you enjoy or whatever you already have. You can also swap out the protein here for whatever might be in the fridge (sweet Italian sausage, ground beef, ground turkey, etc).

My rule of thumb when it comes to recipes with only a few ingredients is this… The fewer the ingredients, the better quality they need to be. With that being said, if you don’t have fresh garlic, use the jarred stuff or garlic paste.

When browning your sausage (or any ground meat for that matter) it’s important to ensure the protein is making maximum surface area contact with the skillet. This will ensure that the sausage gets golden brown and beautiful. This process will ensure the sausage gets color, flavor, and texture – all of which will positively add to your pasta.
Once the sausage is browned, add in the onions, garlic, tomato paste, truffle oil, Italian herb paste, or seasoning, and season to taste.
Next, add the spinach and cover with a lid until the spinach wilts down. Mix to combine and then deglaze with dry white wine or chicken broth.
Next, add in the cream and slowly combine parmesan cheese. Allow this to simmer a bit and reduce/thicken up. Season to taste and then add your cooked pasta (that you boiled in salted water of course!).
Allow the pasta to finish cooking in the sauce then plate this up with more parmesan cheese and diced parsley.
Serve it up and enjoy!
